Quarterly Conference Call Minutes 6. Questions & Answer session Discussion 1. CRM 2011 Upgrade The system issues identified to date have been resolved. Please report any additional issues as they occur. Some fields are not auto-populating correctly based on the activity type/sub-type combination. We will add fields as needed upon submission of applications and let you know so that the corresponding documentation can be uploaded. Issues identified to date include: Live Chapter only applications – timed agenda Third-Party applications - Educational Partner Questionnaire to Determine Status as a Commercial Interest and Third Party Check List/Attestation” forms. 2. CME document upload changes Live Activity – Mechanism to Measure Outcomes The last conference call minutes reflect changes made that provide additional time, where possible, to submit required documentation during the pre-activity vs application phase. These changes will allow for application approval in a timelier manner. The Mechanism to Measure Outcomes Competence – example would be a copy of your pre/post questions; if the pre/post questions being utilized to measure a change in competence are reflected on the Planning Document, please upload a document stating such. At a minimum, there must be pre and post questions to show a change in competence. Performance – example for a skills lab would be the checklist faculty utilizes to document attendee performance on the various procedures. Patient Outcomes – example would be a copy of a follow-up survey disseminated 3-6 months post-activity to find out if attendees changed their practice as a result of activity participation. 3. ACEP CME Joint Sponsorship program Dina will be creating a task force to gather input from Chapters that do Third Party activities to utilize when developing guidelines for expansion of our current Joint Sponsorship program. Guidelines will ensure that existing and future Chapter revenue streams are protected. 4. Promotional Material review and approval ALL promotional materials MUST be approved by us prior to dissemination. If revisions are required, the revised version(s) must be submitted for final approval. Promotional materials include (but are not limited to: Email blasts Webpage promo Post cards Save the Dates Registration Brochures On-site program We are working with our IT department to determine whether or not programming changes can be implemented that will allow for the uploading of multiple promotional materials with the status being viewable by Chapter staff. For the time being, when promotional material is uploaded to the application Pre-Activity phase, you will receive an e-mail upon approval of each piece. 5. Quarterly Conference Call minutes Previous minutes have been added to the online application “Resource” page under a “Quarterly Conference Call minutes” category. 6. Questions & Answer session ACEP is monitoring the proposed Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines changes and will disseminate information as changes are finalized. The ACCME is implementing new guidelines they claim will simplify the accreditation process. Dina will be attending the annual ACCME workshop next week in Chicago and will follow up upon her return with any changes to ACEP policies/procedures.
