Job title Reports to Smart Microgrid Solutions Architect Managing Director Job Purpose Leveraging your experience to develop and execute cutting edge Smart Microgrid or other energy solutions involving DES and other technologies for our clients. Working with commercial clients around the world, this role will lead the corporation in establishing Microgrid Utilities for appropriate clients through the integration of on-site electricity generation, distribution networks and control systems. The role will design, develop and execute the Smart Microgrid to enable leading edge energy solutions to small and large scale environments. Duties and Responsibilities Working with Clients - Work with existing and new clients and partners to understand energy requirements and design, develop, construct and maintain a leading, customer-centric Smart Microgrid Solution. Grow internal operations – Translate business requirements to determine appropriate architectural solutions and help expand internal operations in building the energy team to deliver leading edge technology solutions. Make proposals and decisions based on industry standards, current and evolving technologies and standards. Build a comprehensive architecture plan to support all solutions including technical strategies, technology principles, standards, policies and procedures that can be selected at system design time and implemented. Design and build integrated energy Microgrid solutions – utilize best of breed technology components to engage in Microgrid solution design, modeling and implementation as well as dynamic system analysis and testing of emerging technologies and architectures for medium and low voltage distribution systems based on Min-grid, Microgrid and Smart Grid approaches (Including solar and other renewable technologies) Model distribution system using scenario analysis with chosen operational tools. Understand Utility requirements and build solutions that provide control systems which benefit the grid as well as serve the end user in demand response operations. Lead Research and Development efforts – Lead the main thrust in efforts to identify best of breed and emerging technology and collaborate with multiple departments to develop specifications for Microgrid control applications Partner development – Identify and meet with leading technology providers and integrators related to all aspects of Smart Microgrid implementation, including generation, transmission and distribution, storage, intelligent Energy Management Systems (EMS), Demand Management Systems (DMS), Demand Response (DR) and Communications systems. Qualifications Bachelor’ degree in Electrical (Power Systems) Engineering or equivalent 10 + years of successful experience in energy infrastructure engineering and project execution 5+ years of executive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering renewable energy infrastructure projects Experience with utility or electrical distribution controls Experience designing power systems protection and control schemes Experience with advanced grid modernization projects and have broad knowledge of Smart Grid technologies Familiar with cloud computing and communications Strong understanding of financial and contract management Experience designing storage integrated electric systems Experience designing demand management and response electric systems Preferred Credentials Masters or PHD in Electrical Engineering MBA or PMP Certification About AMP Solar Group Inc.
