Nominations Invited for Indian Chest Society
Orations/Awards
Nominations are invited from members of the Indian Chest Society for the following Orations and Awards for the year 2014 for excellence in scientific
and meritorious contributions in the field of pulmonary sciences.
1. ICS – Dr. C.V. Ramakrishnan Oration
3. ICS – Dr. O.A. Sarma Oration
2. ICS – Dr. K.J.R. Murthy Oration
Both ICS – Dr. C.V. Ramakrishnan Oration and ICS – Dr. K.J.R. Murthy Oration are awarded for exemplary contribution in any subject related to
respiratory medicine and are open only for members of the Indian Chest Society. ICS - Dr. O.A. Sarma Oration is meant for distinguished
contribution in the field of Tuberculosis made by any eminent person whether medical or non medical.
Each nomination must include:
1. Letter of nomination.
2. The consent letter from the nominee
3. 5 copies of brief curriculum vitae of nominee.
4. Nominee (for Oration 1 and 2) must be a member of the Indian Chest Society at least for the preceding 3 years.
Note: All nominations should reach the office of the Secretary of the Indian Chest Society at following address on or before 20th June, 2014.

FELLOWSHIP OF INDIAN CHEST SOCIETY (FICS)
Fellowship of Indian Chest Society is open for members of Indian Chest Society. This fellowship is to recognize members of the Indian Chest Society
who have excelled in the field of Respiratory Medicine. The fellowship will be given after the approval of the application of the candidate by a High
Power Credential Committee. The process of selection of fellowship is objective, transparent and accountable. The selected fellow will be allowed to
use “FICS” as a sub title. The fellowship fee is Rs.10,000/- to be paid only on selection or invitation. The last date for the receipt of application is

WORKSHOP ON INTENSIVE RESPIRATORY CRITICAL CARE
The Indian Chest Society is looking for members who have appropriate infrastructure and academic capability to conduct Workshop on “Intensive
Respiratory Critical Care” for the physicians. The society has already prepared a basic module for the workshop and successfully conducted the
workshop for last 4 years. Please note that all the expenditure on such course will be provided by the society. Interested members along with the
details of their centre may apply to the Indian Chest Society headquarters.

TRAVEL GRANT FOR INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
Applications are invited for Travel Grant for attending International Conferences from young Chest Physicians of less than 35 years of age who have
successfully sent their scientific paper for presentation. The Travel Grant will be up to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- (for ACCP International
conferences) and Rs.35,000/- for ERS International conference along with a complimentary registration being offered by the American College of
Chest Physicians (ACCP) and European Respiratory Society (ERS).
