EXTERNAL ADVERT NO. 2/2015
Northern Uganda Youth Development Centre (NUYDC) was established
through a partnership between the Government of Uganda (Represented by
the Office of the Prime Minister) and the Commonwealth Secretariat with the
aim of empowering the Youth of Northern Uganda who were affected and
afflicted by the Lord’s Resistance Army Conflict. The focus was mainly on the
Youth who missed out on education and had no skills for employment in the
job market. NUYDC was to help improve the socio-economic livelihoods of the
youth of Northern Uganda through knowledge based and demand oriented
vocational training, help them gain dignity, acceptable standard of living and
enhance their integration within the Communities.
As part of strengthening the operations of the programme, a Finance Manager
and Instructor Bricklaying and concrete practising are being sought to fill the
vacant posts at the Northern Uganda Youth Development Center (NUYDC)
Gulu as indicated below:1

QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must be Ugandans holding an honours:
 Degree from a recognized University in any of the following: B COM,
Business Administration with Accounting/Finance Management
 Professional qualification in accounting like CPA, ACCA of level III or any
other accountancy professional body is a MUST.
Competencies
 Proven leadership & communication skills
 Knowledge in accountability for use of public resources, including
familiarity with financial management procedures of the Government of
Uganda.
 Understanding of private sector skills needs.
 Experience of managing Multi-Donor Funded projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
 Participate in budget preparation, management and control including the
preparation of payment schedules.

 Prepare all Centre financial reports and other documentation according to
agree upon funders guidelines
 Assist the Director to manage the Centre budget in line with set policies
and guidelines
 Ensure proper management and maintenance of Centre assets i.e.
furniture, fixtures fittings, vehicles computers, motorcycles etc including
those used by satellite center’s
 Management of Centre vehicles and motorcycles including fuel and cost
controls
 Proper management of asset registers i.e. regular update, insurance,
disposal, planning and proper utilization
Any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have: Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineering

Diploma in Technical Teacher Education DTTE/ CTTE from recognised
university /institution and must be registered by ministry of education
and Sports.
 A’ Level and O’ Level Certificates
 At least two years of teaching experience in the field of Vocational or
Technical Education.
 At last two years hands on experience in Brick Lying and Concrete
Practising
 Good understanding of teacher’s code of conduct.
 High level of integrity.
Duties and Responsivities
 Makes Scheme of work, Lesson plans and delivers practical and theory
lessons to learners
 Ensures total coverage of the entire syllabus
 Carries out continuous assessments and evaluations of learners
 Keeps up to date record of students and their work progress
 Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
