science subjects compulsory up to O level ,UPE &USE, PE &
Sports in schools, Support for Science based courses at

 CHALLENGES FACING THE TEACHING OF SCIENCE:
- Some misconceptions/ wrong attitudes : production jobs like
brick making are considered for failures, degrees and certificates
matter more than production, girls are not meant for Science,
science is for whites and very difficult
- Schooling without production
- Noninvolvement of the Environment in the teaching and
learning process.
- Failure to integrate the existing world of science into the school
system
- Emphasis on Examinations rather than learning and
transformation
- Few Science Teachers and misuse of the few ( Mungopacking)
- Un assertive scientists/ engineers
- Ill equipped teacher:
