Job Description:

The Sustainable Endowments Institute (SEI), a special project of Rockefeller Philanthropy

Advisors, seeks highly motivated and reliable individuals for a part-time fellowship (16-20 hours/week) in the spring of 2016. The Fellow will primarily support SEI’s Billion Dollar Green

Challenge (BDGC). The Fellow will engage with potential institutions and organizations as well as work with liaisons from participating institutions to help the program’s colleges, universities,

K-12 schools, and healthcare institutions deepen their commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency goals through implementation of the Green Revolving Fund (GRF) model.

The fellowship position will start on or after Monday February 1, 2016 for a minimum of six months, with the option to extend the fellowship and/or increase from part- to full-time, dependent on applicant availability, interest, and/or project responsibilities.

The Institute’s successful Research Fellows program is entering its eleventh year and has involved undergraduate/graduate students and alumni from dozens of leading schools including:

Brandeis, Boston University, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Northeastern,

Oberlin, Penn, Stanford, Vermont Law School, Williams, and Yale.

The Sustainable Endowments Institute is a nonprofit organization engaged in research, education and outreach to advance resilient institutional responses to climate change. Located in downtown

Responsibilities:

The Fellow’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

-Daily communications with a network of colleges, universities, and other nonprofit administrators, students, and stakeholders

-Developing strategies and programming for effective outreach and relationship building with new and existing BDGC participants

-Conducting communications and informational conversations with interested institutions from potential higher education, K-12 schools, healthcare, and municipalities.

-Implementing aforementioned programming, outreach, and communication strategies

-Providing consulting support and insights to BDGC participants on sustainability and GRF

problems and solutions

-Conducting research on sustainability programs

-Data analysis and entry, especially in Excel, Google Spreadsheets, and Highrise and/or

Salesforce

-Coordinating information and working with other Institute staff on current and new research

Qualifications:

-Demonstrated experience with advancing sustainability on campus or in communities

-Previous experience with customer relations/account management preferred

-Strong oral and written communication

-Excellent organizational skills; strong attention to detail

-Highly independent and proven ability to create and execute work plans

-Proven expertise working as a part of a team on past projects; flexible and cooperative work ethic

-Ability to conduct comprehensive and targeted research

-Ability to succinctly summarize and communicate data

-Past or current work experience with administrators and executives on sustainability-oriented projects a plus

-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Apps
