GRADUATE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND CHECKLIST
To apply for graduate study in Psychology at Kent State University, you must complete the
following:
I. Apply online for graduate study at Kent State University
II. Email the Department Information Sheet to gradpsyc@kent.edu
** BOTH PART I AND II MUST BE COMPLETED AND RECEIVED BY
THE DECEMBER 15TH DEADLINE
Part I: Apply for graduate study at Kent State University
The application process is web-based. To apply, please go to
http://www.kent.edu/admissions/apply/graduate/ and click on Doctoral to get to the
online application process.

Any documents not uploaded during your initial application can be uploaded via
the online portal at www.kent.edu/graduatestudies/submit-documents (e.g.
TOEFL, personal statements, letters of recommendations).

Have original transcripts mailed to:

Request ETS send your GRE scores to KSU, Institution Code 1367.

To inquire regarding the completeness of Part I of your application, check your
status online at http:/www/kent.edu/admissions/apply/ and enter you Login ID and
pin that you received when you applied OR you can call the Division of Graduate
Studies at (330) 672-2661.
Helpful Hints to the Online Process:



In Step 1, Choose “Doctoral,” we do not have a terminal Master’s program.
In Step 2 part C, there is a link for the Letters of Recommendation Form. Check the
“Entering Doctoral Program” box on the form for letters of recommendation. Have
completed letters of recommendation emailed to gradapps@kent.edu.
For Step 2 part I, the Department of Psychological Sciences does not have a
separate Application for Graduate Appointment; you will automatically be considered
for a graduate appointment.

Part II: Email the Department Information Sheet

Department Information Sheet (page 3 & 4). Please provide the best
address, email and phone at which you can be reached during the application
process. Notify us immediately if any of your contact information changes;
we need to be able to contact you in a timely manner. Please email
completed information sheet to gradpsyc@kent.edu. If email is not feasible, this
can be mailed to the following address:

Inquiries regarding the completeness of Part II (Department Information Sheet) of

Personal interviews are an important part of the selection process. You will be contacted in January if
you are selected for an interview. Interviews typically take place in February. It is important that we
have good/current contact information for you. Following the interviews, offers of admission will be
made by April 1; notification of non-admission is likely to be sent after April 15.
