Gene Simmons Rocket Ride to America
Gene Simmons is an amazing bassist who was born on August 25, 1949. Did
you know that Gene Simmons was born in Haifa, Israel? He graduated from State
University (NYSU) and City University (CUNY) and got a Bachelor of Education
degree. Gene came to America when he was just eight and a half years old in
1957 and his home town was Flushing Queens, New York City, in America. Now he
is married to Shannon Tweed and has two children named Nick and Sophie
Tweed. His current age is 62 years old and is impressively making his fans happy
with his brilliant rock-n-roll!
Gene Simmons came to America in 1957 at a very young age. Gene came to
America because his mother wanted to leave his father. After the divorce, they
found out that his father was still in town with another woman. This meant that
Gene Simmons was pulled to America. Moreover, Gene did not speak any English
at all when he arrived to America, he only spoke Hungarian and Hebrew. He got
to America with his mother on an airplane. America was a whole different world
to Gene when he first arrived. He said it seemed magical to him. Obstacles and
hardships that Gene Simmons faced was that he couldn’t understand what the
other kids were saying. Likewise, nobody understood what he said. It was just as if
you were talking to a cat! This complicated his ability to make friendships for
Gene. Gene Simmons’s childhood was poor, yet he loved his life. He pictured
himself as not poor because he had clothing and food which wasn’t poor to him.
He was always grateful for the things he had. An example that he was poor was
that he never went to the movies. His mother couldn’t afford the fare for the
tickets, so they stood behind the doors and watched from outside. Despite being
in the cold, Gene loved doing this because he was able to spend time with his
mother. He is a great person because of all the great actions he has done. For
example, he has helped Hungarian’s through tough times. His mother led him
from childhood to become the great person he is remembered.
Next, Gene Simmons has done many things that made him great. For
example, he is a huge supporter of America and does everything he can for our
country. Gene Simmons is a musician who has brought great music to people all
over the world. Furthermore, one of his greatest accomplishments was that his
axe bass is on display at the Hard Rock Café in Seattle, Washington. Likewise, he
has had many concerts, many hit songs, and even a store just for KISS! The store is
located in North Carolina. Some of his hits were “Rock n’ Roll All Night,” “Tears
Are Falling,” and “I Love It Loud.” Other achievements were that he married
Shannon Tweed and that one of his best-selling albums is Sonic Boom! Gene is
capable of doing many great things in life.
Additionally, there are numerous interesting facts about Gene Simmons
himself. Three interesting facts about Gene are that he LOVED watching TV as a
kid. Especially that one with the screaming girls in the audiences because they just
made him feel happy for some odd reason. As a kid, he loved cowboys back then.
Gene said that cowboys were the old superheroes of the time. He even dressed
up as a cowboy in a school play! Moreover, Gene Simmons was a teacher for 6th
grade and taught Spanish. Look at Gene now!
To add, Gene Simmons has once quoted saying, “You want the best! You
got the best! The hottest band in the world, KISS!” he says this before he
performs with his band KISS goes on stage. In other words, that all the people got
the best band in the world and they are able to watch them perform. Gene is
known for this very quote to get the audience excited.
In addition, Gene Simmons has had some actions that were controversial.
For example, he described Islam as a “vile culture” during an interview in
Melbourne, Australia. Gene said, “They want to come and live right where you
live and they think that you’re evil.” He did something else that raised eyebrows.
In 2011, KISS was removed from the lineup for Michael Jackson’s tribute concert.
This happened because Gene Simmons made allegations and negative comments
regarding Jackson’s personal life and legal issues. This was a poor decision
because it prevented KISS from playing the show. These decisions didn’t change
my opinion of Gene Simmons because he has done more helpful things versus a
couple immoral things.
Moreover, Gene Simmons represents America in numerous ways. He is a
true representative of our country because he has brought a whole new level to
rock-n-roll. Simmons is the key person of all the people who had great
contributions to our country that everyone will remember for the times that
come because of the great things he has done. For example, he explained his
position, wrote about his love, and supported the United States. He said, “I wasn’t
born here. But I have a love for this country and its people that know no bounds. I
will forever be grateful to America for going into World War II when it had
nothing to gain, in a country that was far away… and rescued my mother from the
Nazi German concentration camps. She is alive and I am alive because of America.
And, if you have a problem with America, you have a problem with me.” Being an
American means everything to Gene Simmons because of the last sentence in this
quote. A melting pot contains several combinations of culture. Simmons came to
America, but is still Jewish so he is involved with the melting pot.
Lastly, I chose Gene Simmons because I have been listening to his music for
many years now. Simmons inspired me to appreciate rock-n-roll music, along with
other types of music. Gene Simmons represents our country despite him not
being born here. He does because he has taught and inspired other people with
music. Gene Simmons is an amazing artist.
