Directly responsible to: Head of Admissions Supervisory responsibility for: NA Other contacts Internal: Admissions Office team; other staff in MEL, principally UK Student Recruitment Office and International Office; admissions tutors/officers in faculties/departments; staff in Student Based Services and in ISS (CIS); new UG and PG students. External: Undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, their parents, representatives, teachers & advisors. University-appointed international agents; UCAS; universities and other educational organisations. Purpose: To support the Admissions Office senior team and other MEL colleagues with major projects developing, implementing and reviewing UG and PG admissions systems and to take responsibility for specific office processes. Major Duties: 1 PROJECTS To support the Project Team with the project management of the UG Admissions paperlite project; To deliver discrete areas of research for the project, as directed by the Project Team; To act as secretary for Project Team meetings, producing agendas, supporting papers and minutes, and taking responsibility for follow-up action; To work with the Admissions Office senior team to resolve issues and develop enhancements to the Postgraduate Admissions CRM; To take the lead, with support from the Admissions Office senior team, International Officers and Digital Marketing team, on the creation of an international qualifications database for internal and external use (applicants, agents, online course searches); To design, create and maintain Admissions Office webpages, according to university web strategy guidelines; To compile an (electronic) Admissions Office manual which details office processes. 2 OTHER DUTIES To fulfil a range of administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office. These will include: To use UG and PG Admissions systems (LUSI and CRM) to produce regular statistical reports for management reporting on divisional KPIs and service levels; To take responsibility for making non-standard university scholarship award offers/confirmations and all international scholarship offers; to work with the Deputy Admissions Officer on international research studentship/scholarship schemes; To liaise with the Overseas Programmes Unit and take decisions on collaborative partner university offers; To handle complex correspondence from applicants, representatives, schools etc. on behalf of the Admissions Officers; To cover for the Deputy Admissions Officers for a range of duties including offer checking and advice & guidance work; Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Admissions Officer and Deputies, consistent with the grade of the post.
