Include in the letter, you name, the MSL class you are enrolled in, and what your contracting status is (i.e. SMP, 2 Yr, 3 Yr, 4 Yr, or not contracted). The completed application with all supporting materials should be submitted to: Military Science Department, Kim Bailey, Finch 111 ROTC Scholarship Application Descriptions Room and Board Scholarship (renewable) CMU established six room and board scholarships in 1993. These are competitive awards given annually to both high school seniors winning four-year ROTC Scholarships and current students. Eligibility: Scholarship awarded to students enrolled in Military Science and Leadership courses. The recipient must display a cumulative GPA of 3.25, Military Science GPA of 3.33, and 275 APFT score. Student must live in the on-campus residence halls, standard room. Excellent attendance and attitude will automatically retain scholarship if continue to reside in residence hall. All other must reapply. John G. Kulhavi Scholarship These scholarships are generously provided by John G. Kulhavi to CMU Army ROTC Cadets who have chosen to serve their country as members of the U.S. Army. John Kulhavi was in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Brigadier General. He graduated in the CMU class of 1965 and was introduced to the ROTC Hall of Fame in 1997. Eligibility: Scholarship awarded to students enrolled in Military Science and Leadership courses. Students must be high quality Scholar-Athlete-Leaders (with 3.0 GPA). Based on merit. Financial need is considered. Award amount: $100 - $1,000 Colonel William B. Nolde Scholarship These funds honor Colonel Nolde’s devotion to God, country and family. He was a graduate and former assistant professor of Military Science at CMU. Nolde’s life was characterized by a dedication to peace and rebuilding, with the hope that all mankind would try to understand one another. Eligibility: Scholarship awarded to Contracted cadets, preference given to cadets with at least a sophomore standing. Students must be high quality Scholar-Athlete-Leaders (with 3.0 GPA). Financial need is considered. Award amount: $100 - $1,500 Michigan 22nd and Beyond ROTC Endowment (renewable) Established in 2008 by Army ROTC alumni and friends in honor of the dedication and support of the Michigan 22nd (the first group of cadets to arrive at Ft. Campbell KY for summer camp) and retired department secretary, Beverly Denise Gallagher. Income from this endowment will support a renewable scholarship for a student enrolled in the Department of Military Science Army ROTC classes.
