Fellows will work 10-15 hours/week and work schedules will be coordinated directly with the hosting United Way. A Fellow’s duties may include, but are not limited to: Campaign support Disaster preparedness Grant development/Fundraising Community needs assessment Local initiatives Administrative assistance Please describe in detail the responsibilities of the Fellow for your United Way. Deadline to apply is August 1, 2013 for Selection Option 1 and August 15, 2013 for Selection Option 2. UNITED WAYS OF TEXAS ROBERT M. TINSTMAN FELLOWSHIP SELECTION PROCESS Select one of two selection options: Option 1 – UWT coordinates the search for Tinstman Fellow candidates from local colleges and universities on behalf of the local United Way. UWT will accept applications from interested students during a specific time period, and the most outstanding candidates will be forwarded to your office to be interviewed. You will make the final decision. For Selection Option 1, UWT will provide a $750 match for the Fellow’s $1,500 stipend, and the local United Way will be required to contribute the remaining $750. Option 2 – UWT grants the entire $1,500 stipend amount to the local United Way host. In return, the host takes full responsibility in recruiting and selecting a Fellow. Once the intern is selected, UWT will provide the Fellowship funds. Three Tinstman Fellowships will be granted from the application pool each semester. Priority will be granted applications through the following criteria: 1. Local United Ways that meet the requirements and are applying for the first time to receive a Tinstman Fellow 2. Local United Ways which did not receive a Tinstman Fellow the previous semester; 3. Local United Ways that did receive a Tinstman Fellow the previous semester but have a different subject area for the fellow to work in. 4. All previous end-of-fellowship reports for both host and fellow must have been received by UWT. HOST UNITED WAY COMMITMENT Local United Ways that are UWT members are eligible to request a Fellow in 2013 for a fall university semester. Participating United Ways will be required to: Identify a Fellow for Fall 2013 (under selection Option 2) Assist with locating local housing, if necessary Assist with arranging for course credit from the Fellow’s college or university Submit reports as requested by United Ways of Texas By submitting this application, I verify that our United Way is committed to meeting these program requirements.
