3. Night call coverage will be provided by the assigned CV Registrar and/or cardiology fellows. Keys to the cardiac center will
be available through the radio room adjacent to the ER and must be signed out there in the event an EKG or Echo is
required afterhours.
4. Morning report/CCU rounds will be held in the Cardiac Care Unit.
5. Patients admitted from the cardiac clinic will be assigned for follow up in the hospital by the physician admitting the patient. If
the admitting physician is not the ‘on call physician’, the admitted patient will be assigned to the ‘on call physician’ of the day
of admission.
6. Admitted patients or patients seen on consultation will be followed in the hospital frequently by consulting physicians,
progress notes will be written and their status or change in status will be reported at morning report on a daily basis (if
needed).

occur. All EKGs will be read by the ‘Echo/EKG physician’.
8. Work on cardiac research projects will also occur during on call and non on call days as schedules will allow.
9. North American Cardiology attendings in Eldoret will be available to assist in the care of patients or Echo/EKG /treadmill
