TURKEY TEAM’S CLIL LESSON PLANS LESSON PLAN FRANCE MEETING Date: September 2014 Subject: Greeting Forms in Turkish Grade: 16/17 years Teacher: Fatma DUZSUZ Goals/Objectives/Standards: To make students aware of some simple Turkish words To make students use some simple greeting phrases of Turkish. Time Opening/Framing the Lesson/Introduction/Early Assessment The lesson started with a general introduction of myself and my country (Netherlands). I asked what they already knew about the country. The Lesson Structure: Activities O General introduction - Name + country (Turkey’s powerpoint presentation in attachment) O Introduction of simple Turkish greeting phrases O Comparison between Turkish and English greeting phrases O Making students use the Turkish phrases in their short dialogues O Pair work Closing/Assessment At the end of the lesson, the students prepared short dialogues in which they had a chance to use Turkish phrases to introduce themselves. Homework No homework Monitor/Feedback Self Evaluation of the Lesson The class was perfect; because the students were very eager to learn and practice Turkish. On the other part, it was very fulfilling for me. Time Opening/Framing the Lesson/Introduction/Early Assessment The lesson started with a general introduction of myself. Then I talked about how I would present Troy. The Lesson Structure: Activities O Troy presentation with photos O Asking and answering questions about ancient times. Closing/Assessment At the end of the lesson, the students talked about ancient times and compared ancient remains from Turkey and the Netherlands.
