Ardeche and Mimosa Water Sports Trip 9th – 17th July 2015
In 2015 The Harvey Grammar School will be organising a trip to France for pupils to undertake various
water sports activities. The trip is being organised with the tour operators ‘PGL’ with whom we have
had successful trips with before.
The Accommodation
At both activity sites the accommodation is in four berth tents. The tents have a hard base and camp
beds. A sleeping bag and pillow will need to be brought with the students on the trip.
The Journey
We shall travel by luxury coach to Ardeche and the journey is expected to take around 11 hours. The
journey from Ardeche to Mimosa is expected to take a further 3 hours.
The Itinerary
There will be two days canoeing the descent of the Ardeche Gorge. There are also activity bases at the
centre so there will be the opportunity to try activities such as archery, cat walk, Jacob’s Ladder,
mountain biking and trapeze.
There will also be three days at the Med Centre club Mimosa where there are a range of activities
available such as body boarding, catamarans, ocean riders, longboats, ringo, sailing, sit-on-kayaks,
windsurfing and snorkelling. There will also be one day of multi activity.
The Package
We shall be travelling with PGL who will provide transfers, full board accommodation, insurance,
equipment and instruction.

What to do next?
If you wish your son to be considered for a place on the Harvey Grammar School Water Sports Trip in
July 2015 then please fill out the attached slip, Consent and Medical Form and the standing order form
and return them with the initial deposit of £50 (this is non-refundable if you son is accepted on the
trip) to the Main School Office by Friday 6th December 2013. The deposit should be paid by WisePay.

Grammar School water sports trip to Ardeche and Mimosa in January 2015. We have paid the
initial £50 deposit by Wisepay.

I understand that should my son be offered a place on this trip it will be on the basis of him:
working hard at school, maintaining successful academic achievement and meeting the School’s
expectation in respect of conduct and appearance. I also understand that the invitation may be
reviewed if the expectations are not me.

 I acknowledge receipt of the information relating to the above mentioned school trip and wish my son to be allowed to

 The insurance cover in place for the activity detailed above covers all members of the party in respect of all
accidental and careless acts.
 I understand that the staff and helpers in charge of the members of the group will take all reasonable care for the health
and safety of my son.
 I have ensured that my son understands that it is important for his safety, and the safety of the group, that he obeys any
rules and instructions given by the staff in charge, and those set out in the school behaviour policy. In addition, I have
ensured that my son is aware that he must take reasonable care for his own equipment during the course of the above
school activity.
 I authorise the members of staff involved to approve such medical treatment (including the administration of an
anaesthetic, inoculations, surgery or blood transfusion) which in the opinion of a qualified medical practitioner may be
necessary during the period of the activity. Where appropriate, I have provided immediately below a description of any
medical condition/s from which my son is currently suffering.
