Chemical Peels Post-Treatment Care Sheet Directions AM and PM 1. Wash your face daily with a gentle cleanser. 2. On dry skin apply Aloe Vera gel as needed for sensitivity and as an intensive moisturizer for dryness. Aloe Vera gel also has the ability to soothe pain and regenerate skin cells to promote healing with little to no scaring. Apply Aloe Vera gel 2-3 times a day to the area/wound until it is healed. 3. For AM don’t forget your SPF 30 sunblock DAILY (preferably spray SPF or Skinceuticals SPF 50). 4. For a few days skin may feel dry, flaky and pink or red in appearance. 5. Can use powder or mineral makeup ONLY as soon as the next day. 6. No liquid or cream makeup for 1 week after peel. 7. You can use medical scissors to trim away the peeling skin to avoid picking or pulling it ONLY if you have had a TCA or Jessner’s peel. This does not apply to Pumpkin Peels. To promote the healing process, clients should be advised to AVOID the following for 1 week following a chemical peel: AHA’s: Glycolic Acids, Lactic Acids, Retin A, Vitamin A BHA’s: Salicylic Acid Pumpkin peels Chemical peels Microdermabrasion or exfoliating cleaners Abrasive or exfoliating sponges Sun exposure (Sun or Tanning beds) Direct heat sources Do NOT do the following for 1 week following a chemical peel: Have a facial Peel, pick, rub or scrape the skin Use an active moisturizer or treatment with any of the following from the list above Wax the area that has been chemically treated Have electrolysis or laser treatments Use depilatories Use loofahs Color hair Permanent makeup tattooing If you have any questions, please contact me.
