The Dolphin Project is a nonprofit, ALL-volunteer research, conservation and
education organization dedicated to the protection of wild Bottlenose dolphins and the
coastal environment of Georgia and lower South Carolina. TDP has been engaged in
conducting a long-term, scientific study of the Bottlenose dolphin since 1989. A brief
description of our organization is included on a separate page.
The Dolphin Project is hosting a very special event at J.F. Gregory Park in
Richmond Hill, Georgia to celebrate its Twenty-fifth Anniversary on Saturday, July 19,
2014. This event will include a low-country dinner, BBQ, music, dancing and a silent
auction. It will be open to the public with over 300 people expected to attend from across
the southeast. This special affair will be widely publicized not only throughout the
southeastern United States, but nationally as well.
The Dolphin Project is funded primarily by donations and memberships. Besides
celebrating our amazing volunteers, we hope to fund important research and education
projects from this event: $6,000 for salinity equipment for our research surveys; $25,000
for our middle school program for Georgia and South Carolina which will emphasize
science, marine biology, math and geography. The silent auction at this celebration will
feature donations from artists, restaurants, hotels, shops and events not only from the
coast but from across the country. The Dolphin Project would greatly appreciate a gift card
or donation for our event from your establishment for this fundraiser. Your business will be
recognized as a sponsor in printed materials and publicity for its donation. A sponsorship
page is included with this letter.
The Dolphin Project is distinctive in that it is the ONLY organization of its kind in
the United States. It is an ALL-Volunteer group studying wild Bottlenose dolphins under a
uniquely specialized U.S. government permit. We are thrilled to be celebrating this
milestone of twenty-five years. The Dolphin Project anticipates that our 25th Anniversary of
Research, Education and Conservation will not only be a festive event for all to enjoy but
a successful fundraiser as well.
