Aims of the Programme The aim of this programme is for registered practitioners (ie Nurses, Midwives, Community Public Health Nurses) currently working in a sexual health related area, who have successfully completed MW2127 (Developing Skills in Contraception and Reproductive Sexual Health Care) or equivalent to achieve knowledge and clinical competence in asymptomatic screening for sexually transmitted infections and HIV. It is anticipated that upon successful completion of this course that practitioners will be dual trained in both contraception and asymptomatic screening for STI’s and HIV, utilising transferable skills to provide holistic client care for working within an integrated sexual health service. 12. Critically evaluate evidence based guidelines in the management of clients accessing asymptomatic screening for STI and HIV screening within clinical practice.
