As a member of a team working in conjunction with other sections, the role includes day to day administration of the visitor experience team, including staffing, workflows and rosters, determining daily priorities, mentoring and developing staff and volunteers, and front of house operations including reception. The occupant of this position will be the senior officer on site on weekends. The working pattern for this position will be:Week 1 – Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday Week 2 – Saturday, Sunday and Monday DUTIES Under the supervision of the Volunteer and Visitor Experience Coordinator (APS6): 1. Supervise day to day coordination of the visitor services team including daily briefs, rosters and identifying and resourcing daily priorities. Includes being the senior officer on site on weekends. 2. Maintain Visitor Services Officers and volunteer rosters, records, database and arranging meetings and events. 3. Assist in the supervision of front of house operations and delivery of programs to achieve visitor experience objectives, with the ability to provide active support if Visitor Services Officers are not available. 4. Assist with the development and implementation of training programs for the visitor service team and volunteers. 5. Take a leadership role in the review, development and implementation of the Disability Action Plan, including performance of associated administrative duties. 6. Maintain effective communication with Visitor Services Officers, volunteers, other teams, contractors and tenants, using a variety of information channels. Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated experience in supervising staff and volunteers including developing rosters and managing workflows in an environment with competing priorities. 2. Demonstrated customer service experience in a busy operational environment. 3. High level communication and interpersonal skills. This includes the demonstrated ability to deliver tours and other presentations to visitors and to also deliver training programs for staff and volunteers. 4. Understanding the importance of providing an accessible and non-discriminatory experience for people with disability in a cultural institution located in a heritage building. 5. Demonstrated knowledge of, and capacity to apply, the APS Values, participative management practices, workplace diversity principles and work health and safety within a work and team environment, and in a public venue and heritage site.
