Robotics, Non Linear Control, Geometric Mechanics and Computational Vision
The beneficiary will be able to work on biologically-inspired approaches, related to robotic
locomotion, manipulation, control and sensing, with applications to search-and-rescue operations,
as well as to surgical robotics, in particular to capsule endoscopy.
Learning outcomes: The beneficiary will gain expertise on approaches related to different topics
ranging from robotics, nonlinear control, and geometric mechanics to computation vision.

Induction of ClinicoGenomic Biomarkers from Microarray & Clinical Data; Develop and implement
a stand-alone (and potentially Web-based) application with the utilization of state-of the-art
development platform; Inference of Gene Regulatory Networks (GRN) from Microarray Data;
Inference of GRN from microarray data following graph-theoretic approaches;
Learning outcome: Depending on the chosen project the Beneficiary will gain expertise in either
new data mining algorithmic approaches for inducing biomarkers from microarray and clinical
data or in graph-theoretic approaches to infer (match and validate) gene regulatory networks.
