GRADUATION CANDIDACY FORM / INFORMATION Dear Graduation Candidate – Class of 2016, Currently you are considered a graduation candidate until final grades close for the 2015-2016 school year. In preparation for the Commencement Ceremony, scheduled June 3, 2016 (pending no changes to the district calendar) you will need to plan for the following checklist of necessary items: Items for Graduation Ceremony ___Cap and Gown ordered from Josten’s ___Senior Portrait for the Yearbook, PowerPoint Presentation, Newspaper or other publications Give to Mrs. Bennett ___Baby Picture for the Graduation PowerPoint Presentation Give to Ms. Dillon Graduation Practice – Procedure to be enforced 1. Graduation Practice will be scheduled and announced prior to the graduation date. If you intend to march at Graduation, you must attend rehearsal. There will be no excusal for work or other appointments. This is a regular school day. 2. Graduation PowerPoint will begin at approximately 6:15 in the gymnasium. 3. Graduation will start at 7:00 P.M. There are no tickets for graduation. 4. Graduation is a semi-formal activity. All students must be dressed appropriately. (Please see COMMENCEMENT regulations as per Student Handbook *). *The following information is in the California High School Student Handbook, and all aspects of the Board Approved regulations will be enforced: Commencement Commencement is the culminating activity for seniors who complete all the requirements for graduation in advance. Historically, commencement has been a formal ceremony with due consideration for uniformity and conduct. Seniors who are eligible to participate in Commencement do so with the understanding that they agree to follow all dress, appearance and procedural rules and regulations. Students who fail to follow the dress, appearance, and / or procedural rules and regulations shall forfeit their opportunity to participate in Commencement. Dress for Commencement shall be as uniform as possible. School officials will enforce the school dress code. Appropriate clothing of a formal or semi- formal attire is encouraged. Students may not wear flip flops, shorts or any type of shorts apparel, pajamas, sweat pants, tank tops or t-shirts. All graduation requirements must be complete prior to Commencement in order to participate in this ceremony. Other than academic requirements this includes but is not limited to the cleaning out of one’s locker, the paying of all debts and fines, the return of all school owned materials, the serving of all detentions and the participation in commencement practices.
