Be an S&T StudyMissouri Global Scholar!
The Office of International & Cultural Affairs invites you to
participate in our inaugural “StudyMissouri Global Scholar”
competition.
Candidates must demonstrate global
competency by the points they make in the mandatory
essay. Winners will attend International Education Day, March
31, 2015, an all-day event in Jefferson City, MO. S&T Global
Scholars can network with other international students enrolled
in educational programs in Missouri, meet state representatives
and senators, tour the state capitol building, and serve as a
global ambassador for our campus and Celebration of Nations.
Requirements:
Submit a completed application and an original essay on the following topic:
Employers want to hire students who are globally aware and culturally competent. What does this mean
to you? Why are these skills so important to the modern job market?
This essay will be judged based on the quality of the points that are being made and the quality of
writing. Consideration will be given for second language learners. The essay should be a minimum of
one page in length. It must be typed. Nine Global Scholars will be selected for this honor.
Deadline:
February 27, 2015, 4:30 p.m. Submit all applications & completed essays to celebrate@mst.edu or drop
off a printed copy of your materials to 105 SWBCC, 1207 North Elm Street. If you are sending by email

Afternoon: Capitol tours, visit to Lincoln University to discuss possible collaboration on international activities
