Unique Station Identifier (example: mix941, hot923, rock103) Second word must be: JOIN xample: Text mix941 JOIN to 54321 Facts about your Unique Station Identifier To set your Unique Station Identifier (USI), please contact your Market Development Manager. USIs are restricted to one per station per short code. Your USI should be as short as possible and phonetically easy for listeners to understand on air. o Good Examples: Mix941, WWBR, Power1037 o Bad Examples: Lazer, Jammin, Movin It is possible that other stations sharing this short code may have chosen your primary choice. Please have several options available in case your primary choice is not available. USI should stay constant unless you have a change in Call Letters, Frequency, or Positioner Statement that may affect it. If a user joins the club for the first time, a welcome message will be returned from the system indicating they have been added. If the mobile number the user sends is already subscribed, they will be returned a message from the system notifying them they are already subscribed. Listeners can text in to a keyword or message to your station without becoming a member of your database. They accomplish this by using your USI and KEYWORD/PHRASE. Example: Text mix941 taco to 54321, or Text mix941 play more green day to 54321. They will only receive the (optional) Auto-Reply and not be registered to your database. Important Facts on your Database Listeners who subscribe via the mobile signup will contain very limited data in your system database o Listener only exist as a mobile phone number There is not a method for a listener to update the account with their name, age, address, etc. o If a listener attempts to sign up on your website after using mobile signup, they will be told they are already registered In order to signup online, they would need to opt out of their current subscription by texting “STOP” to the station short code.
