WHEREAS: Student Senate is elected by the Student Body to represent and voice the opinions
of students; and
WHEREAS: Student Senate is a means by which students concerns are addressed; and
WHEREAS: The Baylor Lambda Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma will be hosting a Fish
Fry Festival in conjunction with the Association of Black Students Fish Fry
Festival, which will be open free to the Baylor University Family as well as the
Waco Community; and
WHEREAS: The Fish Fry Festival will be occurring on Friday, October 1, 2010, at 6:30pm in
the SUB bowl; and
WHEREAS: The Fish Fry Festival is projected to draw in an estimated crowd of 900 people;
and
WHEREAS: Baylor Lambda Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma is a fraternal organization on
campus that strives to promotes services towards others as part of its Four Pillar
mission statement; and
WHEREAS: In order to fulfill this pillar, proceeds from Kappa Sigma T-Shirt sales at the event
will benefit the Waco Veteran’s Hospital; and
WHEREAS: Fish Fry Festival will feature an array of activities including: a United-We-Stand
Bounce House, a dunking booth, a 33’ obstacle course, as well as a food frying
contest; and
WHEREAS: The budget for hosting the 2010 Fish Fry Festival is as follows:

Be it resolved by the 58th Legislative Session of the Baylor University Student
Senate assembled that $1,070.00 be allocated from the Student Government
Allocation Fund (SGAF) to Kappa Sigma for the purpose of funding Kappa
Sigma Fish Fry.
Furthermore: Any unused money from the SGAF will be returned to the SGAF in an expedient
manner.
Furthermore: The SGAF will be given due recognition at the event per SGAF Branding
Requirements.
Furthermore: Kappa Sigma will meet with the Attorney General within seven business days
after the event.
Furthermore: Kappa Sigma invites all members of Student Government to attend this event!
