+ The Core Teacher of the CIUoN, Ruth, Won the First Prize in the Essay Competition of “ My China/Kenya Story” On November 14, 2014, the essay competition of “my China/Kenya Story” held in the insurance institute of Nairobi Kenya. This essay competition was sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Kenya, Kenya's trade association of China and overseas Chinese federation of Kenya. Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Liu Xianfa, speaker of the senate of Kenya, Kenya's Culture Ministry officials, the leaders of Kenya's trade association of China and overseas Chinese federation of Kenya attended this ceremony. The teachers and students of the CIUoN also attended this ceremony. This essay started on March 10, after the acquisition of one mouth, the organizers received more than 300 articles from Kenya, China, Canada, Australia and other countries. After the intern and the review, the organizers selected 20 honorable mention, 6 third prize, 4 second prize, 1 first prize in English group and 1 first prize in Chinese group. The core teacher of the CIUoN, Ruth, got the English group NO.1 in this competition. Ruth was one of the first groups of students in the Confucius Institute of Nairobi University, she was the first student on behalf of the Kenya students and took part in "Chinese bridge" competition, then through their own efforts, and she got the scholarship of Hanban and in studying in Tianjin normal university for eight years. In eight years, her Chinese level had the very big promotion, at the same time; she made many good friends of China, and had the opportunity to participate in the CCTV Spring Festival gala show. 8 years of experience to make her achieve her "China story", her story also moved many people. The Chinese chorus of the Confucius Institute of Nairobi University also attended this ceremony. Before the start of the ceremony, they dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, through traditional African struck drums, beautiful harmony, standard Chinese pronunciation; they sang many classic Chinese songs with traditional African struck drums, beautiful harmony and standard Chinese pronunciation. Their performances not only added color to activity, also commanded all present audience praise.
