MISS BOSTON PAGEANT Saturday, September 27, 2014 All eligible young ladies are invited to participate in the 2014 Miss Boston Pageant on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 7:30 pm in the Boston Events Center. The Boston Community Club is excited that we will be able to host the pageant in Boston as we celebrate the southern charm of our community. We believe our children are tomorrow’s leaders and the pageant focuses on developing lifelong skills in the areas of leadership, communication, confidence, and poise. 2014 Miss Boston Pageant Divisions Wee Miss Boston………………..Ages 3 – 5 Jr. Little Miss Boston………………..Ages 6 – 7 Little Miss Boston………………..Ages 8 – 10 Junior Miss Boston………………..Ages 11 – 13 Miss Boston………………..Ages 14 – 19 The entry fee for all divisions is $40.oo per participant. Entry fees may be paid for personally or by a sponsor. If you need assistance in obtaining a sponsor, please contact one of the pageant committee members. To enter, please submit a completed entry form and letter of recommendation (see page 2) with your $40.00 entry fee to the address on the application. Please mail these as soon as possible so that we may plan accordingly and send you a confirmation letter with pertinent information regarding the pageant. The deadline to qualify is September 13, 2014. Contestants are required to be at all rehearsals, which will be held the week of the pageant. A parent meeting will also be held prior to the week of the pageant. Dates and times of the meeting and rehearsals will be included in your confirmation letter. All winners and runners-up will be required to participate in the Boston Mini Marathon Parade on Saturday, October 25, 2014. The winners in this pageant represent the city and community of Boston, and are our most visible ambassadors during the year at area festivals, parades, and community functions. It is mandatory for the winners and runners-up to participate in these future events. Winners, runners-up, and their parents are also responsible for helping to decorate the float and float vehicle before events. Residential Requirements – All Divisions To participate in the pageant, all contestants’ parents/legal guardian must have proof of one of the following: a Boston mailing address; membership at a Boston Church; or employment with a Boston business. Dress Requirements –All Divisions Wee Miss, Jr. Little Miss, Little Miss, and Junior Miss: Each of the contestants in these divisions will require a formal pageant dress, short or long. All dresses, hair, and make-up should be age appropriate. Miss Boston: Each of these contestants will require a long formal pageant dress, interview outfit, and casualwear. All dresses, hair, and make-up should be age appropriate. Character/Academic Requirements – Junior and Miss Boston Divisions The Miss Boston Pageant believes that any ambassador for the city and community of Boston should hold their character and education as priorities, and has established certain guidelines for participation. All contestants must be actively enrolled in school with a satisfactory attendance record, passing grades in all classes, and no disciplinary actions taken against them in the past year. Contestants must provide a written recommendation letter from a current academic teacher or a community leader (civic or church). These letters will need to attest to the contestant’s character and conduct, as well as participation in school and/or community organizations, clubs and interscholastic activities. Contestants must have never been engaged or married, nor plan to be married in the year of her reign. Contestants must not have children by birth or adoption.
