Additional Local Scholarships 2014 – 2015
Mt. Adams Orchards and Underwood Fruit & Warehouse is offering a $2,000 four year renewable scholarship to a
student whose parent or guardian is an employee. Pick up an application in the Scholarship Box in the Career Center.
Deadline is April 30, 2015.
Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility is offering the $1,000 Greenfield Peace Writing Scholarship for any 11th or
12th grade Oregon high school students. They may enter by submitting an original essay, poem, or narrative work
(maximum 600 words) in response to the following writing prompt and question:
What do you see as the role of education in creating a more just and peaceful world? Check out the website at
www.oregonpsr.org. Deadline is March 16, 3015 at 5:00 PM.
The Dalles Masonic Lodge is offering a $2,000 scholarship to a graduate of The Dalles High School. Male or female may
apply with GPA of 2.5 or above should apply. Funds may be used for community college, trade school, college or
university. Mailing address for applications is P.O. Box 172, The Dalles, OR 97058. Pick up applications in the Scholarship
Box in the Career Center. Deadline is April 1, 2015.
Oregon PTA is offering a limited number of tuition scholarships to high school seniors or college students who are
Oregon residents who want to teach in Oregon at an elementary or secondary school. The scholarship may be used at
any Oregon Public college or university that trains teachers or that transfers credits in education. It is $500 nonrenewable; however, winners may re-apply subsequent years. Send an email to: office@oregonpta.org to request an
application form. Deadline is March 30, 2015.
Mid Columbia Producers is offering $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors who are a child or grandchild of a current
MCP member or full time employee. Pick up an application in the Scholarship Box in the Career Center. Deadline is April
1, 2015.
The Balanced Man Scholarship is provided by Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Oregon State University; two $1,000
scholarships and four $500 scholarships will be awarded. Affiliation with the fraternity is NOT necessary in order to
receive a scholarship. Apply online at http://osuspe.chapterspot.com or pick up an application in the Scholarship Box in
the Career Center. Deadline is June 10, 2015.
Harmony of the Gorge is offering the $500 Virginia Hosford Music Scholarship to a graduating senior girl who has
participated in music in high school. Pick up an application in the Scholarship Box in the Career Center. Deadline is April
15, 2015.
The Randy Rood Memorial Scholarship provides $2,500 per year for four years of college to qualifying seniors! Read
about it in the Scholarship Packet, and pick up an application in the Career Center, or check out the Scholarship link on
the high school home page. Deadline is April 3, 2015.
Assoc. Oregon Loggers, Inc. is offering a $1,500 scholarship to Oregon high school seniors who intend to pursue a career
in a forest resource reproduction field of study at a four-year college or university. Pick up an application in the
Scholarship Box in the Career Center. Deadline is April 1, 2015.
Columbia Gorge Community College is offering 3 different scholarship options:
Gorge Scholars: Full tuition for 2 years for students with a 3.3 GPA or higher and appropriate test scores (see
www.cgcc.edu/scholars); available to the first 24 eligible students who apply.
CGCC Foundation High School Full Year Scholarship Application: Scholarship based on financial need.
(www.cgcc.edu/financial-aid/scholarships) Deadline April 9, 2015 at 12pm.
CGCC ASPIRE Scholarship: Open to participating ASPIRE students at TDHS. Student must be first generation, low income,
or of an underrepresented population. Deadline April 9, 2015 at 12pm.
