rosie.valdez@lrsd.org. Multiple slates are welcome, but you must provide one qualified judge for every ten

for uncovered entries to pay hired judges for last minute changes/uncovered rounds and will be enforced. We

Student Congress
We will be taking bill submissions for our Student Congress competition. Bills are due by Tuesday,
October 6, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Bill submissions must follow NSDA format and should be submitted to
rosie.valdez@lrsd.org. The NSDA bill template can be found here. We will allow two bill submissions per
school. Students may enter student congress as a consolation event on Saturday for $10.00 at
the door.
Debate Events
Size of debate fields will determine eliminations rounds. We expect all varsity policy debaters will in participate
in disclosure through the policy debate wiki. At minimum, teams should have 1AC information and
representative negative information. The wiki can be found at: http://wiki.debatecoaches.org/Policy+Debate.
Junior High Invitational
We will offer one prelim in Junior High Individual Events which will advance to semifinals or straight to finals
(depending on size of event). We will offer three prelims in Juinor High IPDA Debate. IPDA is the only debate
event junior high students may enter.
Individual Events
All NSDA event rules must be followed. Please consult NSDA event standards and rules carefully. ACTAA
Events (Mime, Storytelling, Prose, Poetry, Improv) and NSDA Extemp Events (IX, DX), will have one prelim
and advance to appropriate elimination round. NSDA Events (OO, DUO, HI, DI) will have three prelims and
advance to appropriate elimination round.
Judging
Schools are expected to bring the appropriate number of judges to fulfill judging commitments. We reserve the
right to limit entries or assess fees if commitments are not fulfilled. High school juniors and seniors NOT
ENTERED in the Little Rock Central Classic may judge in the Junior High Invitational. Please list these judges
on your entry and indicate their year of graduation. An example is below:
Darrin Williams ‘16
You must provide a cell number for every judge entered. Please be very clear about judge availability.
High school graduates of any age may judge any event, however we expect program directors to make informed
discretion about judge qualifications. If a high school graduate is NOT qualified to judge policy debate, please
do not list them as such. It is the responsibility of all coaches to ensure that all forensics judges are familiar
with NSDA event rules and guidelines.
Double Entry
Students may only enter one draw event. No exceptions. Students may double-enter events, but the
tournament schedule WILL NOT wait for these students. As the tournament advances, students may have to
choose between events. No junior high student may compete in the high school tournament unless competing
under the 9th grade exception. No high school student may compete in the junior high invitational. We reserve
the right to collapse, condense, or eliminate events in either tournament due to under-entry. Each school
will be allowed to enter six (6) IPDA debaters in High School, and six (6) in Junior High. We
must cap this event due to judging and room constraints. We will have a wait-list for additional
IPDA entries in both fields.

AWARDS AT COMPLETION OF GROUP EVENTS
ACTAA JUDGES’ AGREEMENT
First, and foremost, thank you for giving your time to our students. Your willingness to watch their performances and
offer meaningful feedback is invaluable. All judges at ACTAA TOC qualifying tournaments must:
1. Not curse or use suggestive language that is either directed at or in the presence of students.
2. Not verbally critique individual performers, rather fill the ballot out completely, including comments. Oral
critiques in debate should be kept to a minimum (5 minutes) and should not replace written critiques on ballots.
3. Remember that ballots are intended as instructional documents; please add criticism and praise in ways that a
student can grow and learn, not be belittled or insulted.
4. Acknowledge that, per Arkansas state law, smoking and vaping are not permitted on school grounds.
5. Be attentive throughout the entire round/performance. Please limit your use of electronic devices to emergency
situations. If you must exit the room before the round is complete, please wait for the current speaker/performer
to finish and return as quickly as possible. Early departure from the tournament must be communicated with the
judging table.
6. Consider the rules of the event when ranking students, assigning speaker points, and/or determining winners.
7. Ensure that all competitors are given an opportunity to perform. Please do not leave your round until all
competitors have performed, the allotted time for the round has elapsed, and/or you have been given
permission to leave by the judging table or tournament director.
Please acknowledge that you have read and agree to follow these guidelines by signing below. Thank you again for your
time and adherence to these expectations.

The Little Rock Central Troubadours invite you to participate in our drive for Lucie’s Place! Lucie's
Place provides resources and assistance to many LGBTQ young people, and is working to open a
long-term transitional shelter in the Central Arkansas area, which will be open specifically to LGBTQidentified young adults.
Only 5-10% of the general population identify as LGBTQ, however 20-40% of the homeless
population share this identity. Although equality for LGBTQ people has come a long way in the past
50 years, LGBTQ youth and young adults commonly experience harassment and violence at home.
There are a few ways to give!
Monetary Donations – You may make a donation on Joy of Tournaments to Lucie’s Place included
in your entry fees or paid separately at registration. There will also be an opportunity to donate
change at Concessions and in the Coaches’ Lounge.
Net10 Wireless Cards (any amount) – An example can be found here.
Bus Passes – 31-Day Bus Passes can be purchased at https://www.rrmetro.org/store/.
The squad who donates the most to Lucie’s Place will receive a trophy and special gift, presented by a
member of the Lucie’s Place board!
