Dublin Scioto High School Swim & Dive Team Booster Meeting Meeting Minutes - January 19, 2014 This meeting was called specifically to plan our upcoming events: Senior Night & the team banquet. It was held at the home of Judy Whiting at 4 pm. An email was sent 1/14/14 inviting team parents to come help plan these events. Attending: Missy Whiting (Vice President) Jan Jordan (Treasurer) Jenni Orender (Secretary) Judy Whiting Meeting Minutes: Senior Night/Dublin Classic - Saturday, February 1: * Senior recognition - parents asked to be there by 3:30, meet to start immediately following senior recognition from all 3 Dublin schools ~4:30 or so * Jerome is hosting this year and is providing a program highlighting all the seniors (our seniors are to provide a bio for this ASAP) - we will not have a separate program, we will go with whatever Jerome provides * Jerome will provide balloons for all 3 Dublin schools and submit to us the cost for ours * The Talla room has been booked and paid for (per Joe) at the Rec Center (not sure if we were to provide a table count to them at the time of booking, or not). We figured we'd need about 6 round tables - for swimmers and family members as well as 4 long rectangular tables - for food, etc * We will need parents to help with setup/decorating prior to the end of the meet! * Judy has some tablecloths (?extra from last year?) but we may need more. Jenni to handle centerpieces - short glass vases with candy (?green/silver?), confetti, ribbon, pictures (Judy to make prints) * Boosters will provide Domino's pizza (12 pizzas, 6 cheese/6 pepperoni? - Missy to handle ordering/delivery), parents to bring sides and drinks ~Seniors(3) & Juniors(4) to provide cold drinks - bottled/canned in coolers, no pop water/lemonade/gatorade ~Sophomores(4) & Freshmen(4) to provide sides - salads, side dishes, fruit, etc * Jan to get clear cutlery from Sam's, Jenni to get paper plates (big & small) and green napkins * Jan to get cake with picture on it - ? from Sam's * Missy & Jan to handle mementos for their seniors (shadowbox/scrapbook pages, etc) * We will need parents/swimmers to help with cleanup after Senior Night! Team Banquet - Wednesday, March 12 from 6-8:30 pm: * We will need help with setup/decorating before the banquet ~5:30 or so! * Use tablecloths from Senior Night - may need to get more * The Confars were volunteered to handle the centerpieces - thank you! * Judy volunteered to make up a DVD of team pictures to play on a loop during the banquet we will not be providing a copy to each swimmer * Brian will be provided a schedule for the evening's events - there will not be a program for the banquet * Boosters will provide rotisserie chicken, bottled water, and cookies - families to provide side dishes or salads * Jan & Jenni to provide Nesco type roasters to use as warmers for the chicken Other items discussed: * As of this meeting, 5 members of the swim/dive team have not paid their booster fees. This has had an impact on what we, as boosters, can do for our team (events, t-shirts, etc) * Team members have not yet received a team shirt this year. Judy/Sabrina are collecting shirt sizes to order 1 nice short-sleeved t-shirt (probably black with green embroidery/logo, ? from EDG on Billingsley) to be given to team members who have paid their booster fees - hopefully at Senior Night but maybe at the banquet (depending on when we can get them) * Towels for 2nd year swimmers are being embroidered - not sure they will be done for Senior Night...if not, they will be given at the banquet. Our 2nd year swimmers: Joel, Reagan & Rachel * The Dishonesty Bond ($200) will be due in July of this year - it is paid every 3 years Next Booster Meeting: Thursday, February 13 at 7 pm in the Scioto teacher's lounge * Joe to check/reserve with the AD to be sure we can use the teacher's lounge that night * All are welcome to attend!
