Progressive 3 Step Approach for Learning Basic Rock, Jazz, and Latin Time Patterns: All patterns are introduced in a 3 step format building each pattern from the cymbal part. Application of Ghosted Snare Drum in Rock Style: Ghosted note snare drum rhythms are added to 4/4 Rock patterns, using ride and closed hi hat time parts in 4/4 time. 9. Open and Closed Hi Hat in Rock Style: 8th note, 8th note triplet , shuffle and double time cymbal parts with progressive open and closed hi hat parts. 10. Two Note Bass Drum Rhythm Study in Rock Style: Two note per beat 4/4 bass drum rhythms are grouped in on beat and off beat rhythms. All patterns easily convert to alternate double bass drum pedal. 11. Expanding Bass Drum Independence in Rock Style: Written in a condensed 2/4 format. After the initial patterns are learned, combining the 2/4 patterns to produce numerous combinations of longer phrases are possible. 12. Advanced Drum Set Lessons in Rock, Funk, Jazz and Latin Styles: Written in condensed Time System Style with the time patterns and independent patterns separated.
