The Adelaide Festival aims to make its performances and
events as accessible as possible to the largest audience.

Website Information
The Adelaide Festival website has been created to be as
accessible as possible for all users.

The website has a dedicated Access Menu located on the
right hand side of the main navigation bar, including font and
size adjustment.
On every event page and some author pages, there are
videos and audio versions of the page information. Each
event in the festival program contains detailed access
information for that event in the booking guide and on the
website.
For up to date Adelaide Festival information sign up for

Facebook and regularly check the Access Pages at

We also encourage you to sign up with Access2Arts

Booking Tickets
When booking tickets please inform staff of any access
requirements to ensure that suitable seating is allocated or
other necessary access arrangements are made.
Festival tickets are sold through three ticketing agencies,
each with varying transaction, credit card and processing
charges depending on where and how you purchase your
ticket.

The Adelaide Festival is a Companion Card Affiliate.
Companion Card holders qualify for concession price tickets
and a second ticket at no cost for their companion.

Venue Facilities
WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Wheelchair Access indicates access for individuals with
limited mobility, including wheelchair users.
Venue Access
All festival venues have full wheelchair access with the
exception of St Peter’s Cathedral.

Power Wheel Chair Battery Charging Points
Wheelchair recharge stations are available at Pioneer
Women’s Memorial Garden. Staff and volunteers on site will
be more than happy to help you if you require assistance.

Auslan Interpreted Events
WHAT IS AUSLAN INTERPRETATION?
During an Auslan interpreted performance an interpreter
stands is clearly visible to the audience, and interprets the
spoken word and sound effects for Deaf patrons who require
Auslan.

Audio Described Events
WHAT IS AUDIO DESCRIPTION?
An Audio Describer delivers a live commentary via a
personal headset providing information on the visual
elements of a performance as it unfolds.
Please request headsets when booking to ensure availability.
Headsets can be collected in foyers of each venue near box
office – from one hour prior to show time.
TOUCH TOUR
Is a guided and/or tactile tour prior to a live performance,
visual art or museum exhibitions.
The touch tour is an opportunity for you to explore the set,
handle some props and receive an introduction from
representative(s) of the company.
Touch tours are free and take place 60 minutes before the
performance.

“A free public event of unprecedented scale and significance,
BLINC transforms Elder Park and surrounds into a giant
spectacular outdoor digital art gallery, every night of the
festival.”

Adelaide Writers’ Week
Access
The Adelaide Writers’ Week information booth is located at
the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden.
Available resources include:
USB drives containing audio versions of the list of authors
and information on the availability of their books in alternative
formats.
Additionally, Braille Adelaide Writers’ Week programs and a
tactile map of the Writers’ Week site will be available at the
information booth.
You can request Auslan interpreting services at an Adelaide
Writers’ Week event by downloading the Auslan Request
