Dear Students,
I am pleased to send you information regarding Vienna University of Economics and Business. Students who are
interested in spending one academic year at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) will have an
opportunity to participate in the JOSZEF program. The JOSZEF program is a supplementary 2-semester study
program in German and partly in English that provides a practice-oriented qualification in business administration
and management for the CEE region.
We are looking for excellent students who are in the last year of their bachelor studies or other 3-4 year basic
studies in Business Administration or Economics. In some cases, we also accept Master students, but please
note that the JOSZEF program is at the Undergraduate Level.
Above all, JOSZEF applicants need to have excellent German and English language skills in order to follow
the courses.
Information about the Application Process
We kindly ask you to do the pre-selection of the JOSZEF candidates. The required application documents are:
›› Curriculum Vitae in German
›› Letter of motivation in German
›› Proof of excellent German language skills
›› Proof of excellent English language skills
›› Proof of student’s good academic performance
›› Documentation of work experience/internships
According to our bilateral agreement you are very welcome to pre-select one student and forward us his/her
application by regular mail or e-mail by April 29, 2013.
We will then select the candidates and inform you within two weeks so you can nominate the selected JOSZEF
candidates in our WU online nomination system.
Before the start of the winter semester, the selected JOSZEF candidates are invited to take part in a two-day
program introduction and assessment center in Austria in order to make sure they meet all the required criteria.
All expenses for this event will be paid by the JOSZEF program. Candidates who do not qualify for JOSZEF have
the possibility to stay at WU for a normal exchange semester.
We strongly encourage our partner universities to give the nominated students the possibility to receive
ERASMUS scholarship for the entire period of their stay. For selected JOSZEF students who do not have the
possibility to be awarded grants under the ERASMUS program, there is the opportunity to get a JOSZEF
scholarship (app. EUR 550/month).
