Subject: Core Biology
Grade: Mathayom 4
Periods: 6
Department: Science
Course Code: SC31141
Credit: 1.5
Course Material:
Biology Concepts and Applications, 8th Edition by: C. Starr, C. Evers, and L. Starr
Course Description:
This biology course is an elective optional course for students wishing to pursue science-based
careers after graduation. All sections of the previous years will be covered in significantly more
detail than previous. This will prepare students for lecture-style university courses and gain a
more depth in knowledge of biology. Biology topics will range from the cellular-molecular level
in plants and animals to genetics, evolution, anatomy, and physiology, among others.
Course Objectives:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Describe the organization of animal tissues and organ systems
Understand the principles of cellular life in both plants and animals
Demonstrate a deeper understanding of genetics, cell reproduction and heredity
Identify the principles of evolution and how that has affected biodiversity
Describe how plants work and transport nutrients
Demonstrate a deeper understanding of the animal body systems
Understand the principles of ecology and human impact
