Understand the management and organization of a business and the role of a leader within the organization and different types of organizational structures and the importance of different approaches to leadership and ways in which leaders can provide motivation within the organization. 2. Understand contingency leadership theories, and understand the differences between leadership and management from theoretical and skills based perspectives. 3. Discuss and evaluate ways in which managers can manage change and reduce conflict within the organization in addition to ways managers can gain and use effective communication skills 4. Appreciate the concept of design thinking 5. Understand and apply the design thinking process 6. Understand the creative process and critical thinking 7. Apply the core critical thinking skills and techniques to solve business problems and enhance decisionmaking process SYNOPSIS The module aims to equip students with knowledge and skills that are essential for leadership success. It will include traditional and modern concepts of leadership, skill and knowledge development and organizational operations. Apart from leadership skills, students will learn how to apply design thinking concept, and process to solve business organization problems as well as develop skills in reasoning, analysis and the use of logical arguments to problem solving.
