(Stirrups must be safe for led obstacle) The first time starts when the horse and/or rider first pass through the flags. The rider has 10 seconds to position the horse with both front feet within the hoop. The horse must remain in the hoop for 10 seconds. The rider must not touch the horse or move during the immobility. Use of the voice is permitted. Objectives… Demonstrate the obedience and calmness of the horse. Time Criteria… Horse must remain in the hoop for 10 seconds The rider is awarded 1 point per second that the horse remains within the hoop Deductions … Horses’ front feet not in the hoop within 10 seconds – 10 (giving 0 for obstacles) Foot outside of the obstacle -10 (giving 0 for obstacle) Penalties… Brutality -3 points Flapping Stirrups (one or both) -1 points
