2014 Mission AUPT Trip DPT Students and Faculty will be volunteering physical therapy services at Center for Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (www.crp-bangladesh.org) and Hope Foundation for Women and Children in Bangladesh (http://www.hopeforbangladesh.org) beginning August 4, 2014. CRP is a rehabilitation facility for patients with spinal cord injury that was started by a British Physiotherapist, Dr. Valerie Taylor, in the 1970's and has grown into a full rehabilitation hospital and outpatient units in orthopedics, neurology, women's health, and pediatrics. Hope Foundation was started by Dr. Iftikher Mahmood (USA) and is devoted primarily to maternal and fetal health for women living in less than ideal socioeconomic conditions and includes physical therapy related to prenatal/postpartum, fistula repair, women's health issues, and pediatric physical therapy care. Professor Lori Walton from Andrews University Department of Physical Therapy has worked extensively with both facilities over the last four years and will be leading the volunteer service trip. If you would like to join our students and faculty on this mission trip please contact Dr. Lori Walton http://www.andrews.edu/shp/pt/faculty/walton_lori.html.
