Over the course of the assignment period you are expected to shoot at a minimum of 2 hours a week, which means you should have tons of photos to choose from! You will only get better at photography if you practice over time. Waiting until the last minute to shoot the assignment will not allow you to get proficient at the skill. Assignment: Portrait Photography. Shoot in manual mode or aperture priority mode. Subject: Open. Be creative. Use props and makeup. May be shot inside or outside, with natural or artificial lighting. Reminder: ALL pictures must be taken during assignment period. You may not use pictures you have taken in the past or from other assignments. See my website for portrait tips. Hand In in a project 4 folder: 1 final edited portrait using natural lighting (this includes natural lighting with a fill flash or reflector) 1 final edited portrait using artificial lighting (this includes studio lights or creative flash techniques) 1 final edited self-portrait (can be natural or artificial lighting) One critique for each final photo (3 total) This rubric, you must score yourself on it where it says “student score” Folders with pictures in them for each day of shooting during the project. These folders will be used to determine your effort grade.
