Methods Films clips description All the behaviors discussed in this study, including various facial expressions of emotions, and various components of body language were documented in 71 film clips. Almost all films include few examples (few different segments in the clip) of a specific behavior, generally documented in different individuals. If the clip includes examples of body language it will be called: “body L FILM……” If the clip includes examples of facial expressions it will be called: “Facial Exp FILM…..” Each clip starts with the title describing the behavior it documents, for example: Facial expression of anger, aggression & despair. Each segment is marked with a short code, for example: the 1st segment in the clip that documents facial expressions of anger aggression & despair is coded as: F4A1 (F4 – because it belongs to FILM4, A1 – because it is the 1st clip in the serious that documents Anger, Aggression etc.). That code appears in the specific field in the table that describes this specific behavior in details. Each segment includes captions describing that specific behavior. Those captions are identical to the description in the table of that specific behavior. Tables’ structure Facial expressions of emotions and body language of Bonobos were documented in 2 tables: 1. A table of facial expressions, 2. A table of body language. The columns in each of the tables appear as the following: The 1st one includes the emotion/state described, and each of the others includes the individual that showed the specific emotion. That is to say that a specific behavior (facial expression of emotion or body language expresses a specific emotion) shown by a specific individual, will be documented in few close cells of the table and the details will include the code, the point of time in the whole clip where’s the specific segment starts, and the point of time in the whole clip where’s the specific segment ends, & the description of the specific behavior which is identical to the captions appear in the relevant segment of the clip.
