CIRCOR Instrumentation Technologies, Inc. is Recognized for Superior Environmental Compliance
Spartanburg, South Carolina (November 2009)- At a recognition breakfast, hosted by The Spartanburg
Water System, CIRCOR Instrumentation Technologies, Inc. [CIT] was awarded the 2008 Superior
Environmental Compliance Award. This award recognizes outstanding compliance by industrial facilities
to requirements of the Wastewater Discharge Permit issued by The Spartanburg Water System.
The Spartanburg Water System is an award winning group of water treatment facilities. Twenty nine
local industrial facilities are eligible for this award, 13 of which received recognition.
CITs wastewater procedure is as follows: Wastewater is produced, it is cleaned via an internal treatment
system which uses a “Physical / Chemical” process to remove all contaminants, then is released into the
environment. CIT operates using strict wastewater guidelines to make certain any water discharged
from its facility is free of contaminants. Monthly samples are taken by both CIT and Spartanburg Water
to ensure compliance. To receive this award, all samples taken throughout the year must be compliant
to the permit requirements.
