JA SCHOLARSHIPS RULES for Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Students JA USA® Scholarships Students who participate in a Junior Achievement® (JA) class are eligible for both national and state scholarships through JA USA® and Junior Achievement of Arizona (JAAZ, Inc.) respectively. Scholarships offered through JA USA® vary from tuition to vocational colleges to a 4-year full ride scholarship to the college of the student’s choice. Deadlines vary based on individual scholarships and more information is available at the JA Student Center online at www.ja.org. JA of Arizona Scholarships Freshmen Sophomores & Juniors: Arizona high school students who participate in a JA program during their freshman, sophomore or junior years are eligible to apply for a JA of Arizona scholarship during their senior year of school only. Students must follow the “Application Steps” below to be eligible to apply during their senior year. JA of Arizona Scholarships - 9th- 11th Grade Student Instructions Freshman, Sophomore & Junior Application Steps 1. Students must have their JA teacher and JA volunteer complete the attached recommendation forms (Form C and D) during the same school year that they receive Junior Achievement programs. 2. Students must hold their recommendation until their senior year to submit with their scholarship applications. (Letters of Recommendation will not be accepted by JA prior to the student’s senior year.) 3. If you participate in multiple JA programs, please remember to ask for a recommendation from each JA teacher and JA volunteer. 4. Students must visit www.jaaz.org during their senior year and submit a completed scholarship application to our JA office (636 W. Southern Avenue, Tempe AZ 85282). 5. JA teacher and JA volunteer recommendations must be included with all scholarship applications to be considered. All applications will be judged based upon the JA scholarship criteria listed on the JA of Arizona website during the student’s senior year. 6. In order to qualify, selected scholarship winners must attend JA’s annual meeting held in September to accept their scholarship certificate.
