A Soldier’s Christmas 2015 Christmas2012 The Veterans Ministry of Murrysville Alliance Church will be adopting some of our military personnel who are deployed overseas this Christmas season. These soldiers, who are graduates of local high schools, are worthy of our support. The Veterans Ministry will receive items at Murrysville Alliance Church from October 25 to November 22. You may drop off items by leaving them in the collection boxes provided at the church. On November 23 and 24, we will sort and pack up what is received and send everything to these local graduates serving overseas. Below is a list of items that can be purchased. Benevolent gifts are used to assist those in our church and community who are facing times of need. Please place your benevolent giving in a pew giving envelope or your regular giving envelope and mark it “Benevolence”. Many Thanks: to the Delmont Salvation Army Emergency Canteen for coming this morning to honor our veterans. Since World War I, the Salvation Army has been a compassionate presence to our military personnel as they came off the battlefield. The Salvation Army would give them hot coffee, soup and other provisions at no cost. Christmas Bears: is an opportunity to help a needy child in our community with a gift of clothing for Christmas. Serving at Mechling-Shakley: On Saturday, November 14th, our deaconesses and veterans are partnering to provide dinner for veterans at Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center in Cowansville, PA. A Soldiers Christmas 2015: Our Alliance Veterans will be collecting items during the month of November, for sending to local military personnel who will be deployed oversees during the Christmas season. M28 Missions Week: starting Sunday, November 15th - November 22nd. See insert. Church-Wide Thanksgiving Dinner: Sunday, Nov. 22nd after the 11:00 AM service at Murrysville Alliance Church. Bring a hot side dish and a salad. Meat and mashed potatoes will be provided. Invite a friend! Thanksgiving Offering: All General Fund and loose offering received on Sunday, Nov. 22nd will go to the Great Commission Fund. All other designated funds, e.g., Building Fund, Missions, etc. will go to those designated areas. Bikers/Motorcyclists of MAC: It is our privilege each year to host the church–wide Thanksgiving Dinner. Please volunteer to serve during that dinner by signing up in the Lobby. Thanksgiving Meal Delivery: MACriders will be delivering Thanksgiving meals to those in need after the Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, Nov. 22nd. Primetimers Christmas Party: December 8th at Palmieri’s, (Plum location) at 11:30 AM. The cost is $18.00 per person, all inclusive. Sign-up sheet is in the Lobby by the IC Boxes. Money is needed to be in by November 17th. Primetimers Bible Study: Tuesdays, at 10:30 AM in Room 114. We will be studying Revelation. Primetimers: On Tuesday, November 17th one of our International Workers will be speaking at the weekly Bible study followed by lunch in the Fellowship Hall. AWANA: Sunday, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM for ages 2 through 5th grade. AWANA combines games, Bible verses, and captivating lessons into a memorable evening. For more info, please contact Tiffany Horvat, Coordinator. “Caring Hearts Sunday” is a class for anyone with Special Needs from the ages of 11 and older. This class is designed to give our friends with Special Needs a place to have a good time learning the Bible and having fellowship with other peers. We will have Bible lessons, music, crafts and a great time of fellowship. It is also designed to allow parents and caregivers an opportunity to attend the 11:00 AM church service.
