Plate Tectonic Tour Objective: We will create a 2 minute Google Earth Tour with a focus on visiting 3 famous geologic land formations. Within the tour you will focus on the 3 different types of plate boundaries: Convergent, Divergent, and Transform and explain how the landforms results from each boundary. Requirements: Produce a narrated 2 minute tour using Google Earth and Screencast-O-Matic. Include media such as images, animations, videos, and websites. Create a bibliography that includes information, images, and other media used within your project. Procedures 1. Identify 3 famous geologic land formations that result from convergent, divergent, and transform plate boundaries. Ex: Mount St. Helen, The Himalayas, the San Andreas Fault. 2. Research each land formation form, find general information to explain how they form. In addition search for media such as images, videos, websites, etc. to use within your tour. 3. Create a folder/path within Google Earth with selected destinations. Consider writing a brief script focusing on the geologic formation and tectonic plate boundary. 4. Record your tour within Google Earth or with Screencast-O-Matic. Rubric: You will be assessed based on content/understanding as well as quality of work. See rubric below: Category Advanced (5) Proficient (4) Basic (3) Below Basic (2.5) Content/ Covers topic indepth with details and examples. Subject knowledge is excellent. Includes essential knowledge about the topic. Subject knowledge appears to be good. Includes essential information about the topic but there are a few factual errors. Content is minimal OR there are several factual errors. Understanding X2 _____/10 Clear connection to the curriculum. Source information collected for all graphics, facts and quotes. All documented in desired format. All requirements are met and exceeded. Connections to curriculum. Source information collected for all graphics, facts and quotes. Most documented in desired format. All requirements are met. Limited connection to the curriculum. Source information collected for graphics, facts and quotes, but not documented in desired format. One requirement was not completely met. No connection to curriculum. Very little or no source information was collected. More than one requirement was not completely met. Quality of Work X2 _____/10 Makes excellent use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance the presentation. Makes good use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance to presentation. Makes use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. but occasionally these detract from the presentation content. Use of font, color, graphics, effects etc. but these often distract from the presentation content. May be incomplete. Evidence of rehearsal. Good posture, eye contact, and tone. Evidence of rehearsal. Satisfactory posture, eye contact. Limited evidence of rehearsal. Poor eye contact, may have read directly from product. No evidence of rehearsal. Product shows some original thought. Work shows new ideas and insights. Uses other people\'s ideas (giving them credit), but there is little evidence of original thinking. Product shows a large amount of original thought. Ideas are creative and inventive. Uses other people\'s ideas, but does not give them credit.
