Centre for English and World Languages Language Express We are pleased to announce that all postgraduate students studying in the Faculty of Humanities will be eligible to apply to take a free language course in 2015/16. The language courses are intended to develop your language skills, they are non-credit bearing and you will not receive a formal qualification. The Centre for English & World Languages offers 20-week Language Express courses beginning in October. The courses are offered at a number of different levels and so you will need to self-assess yourself using the self-assessment grid on the website to evaluate your level. Languages available are : Arabic French German Italian Japanese Mandarin Portuguese Russian Spanish You should consult the Centre for English & World Languages (CEWL) website for full information about the languages and levels available. There is also an opportunity to meet the tutors on Monday 28th September between 12 and 2pm in Keynes Atrium to discuss the course content. Please note that attendance at Language Express classes is monitored. If you are allocated a place and do not attain a minimum of a 66% attendance rate, you may be charged a proportion of the fees. If you are allocated a place and then wish to cancel your place, you must let the CEWL administrator know or you may be charged a fee. Courses will begin in October. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE ‘BOOK NOW’ OPTION ON THE CEWL WEBSITE OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED FULL FEES. Bookings must be made in this way to ensure you receive the free place.
