For additional information, please visit www.theraclone-sciences.com Job Description: Theraclone is seeking a Research Associate, Process Sciences to conduct protein biochemical experiments and analyses and characterization including but not limited to protein purification, analytical analyses, immune-precipitation, affinity determination and the application of a variety of assays in a team-oriented atmosphere. This position will work collaboratively with research teams to facilitate the purification and characterization of antibodies and other proteins. The Research Associate should possess broad skills in the areas of biochemistry including protein purification and analytical analyses of antibodies and other proteins. Responsibilities: Sets up and performs analyses and purification strategies independently. Consistently demonstrates the ability to exercise technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments and studies that contribute to project goals. Responsibilities will include maintenance of laboratory equipment and consumables. Qualification Requirements: A minimum of 2-5 years of related academic or industry experience in a research/development environment with emphasis on analytical development. Familiarity with high performance liquid chromagraphy methods for analytical assays of proteins. Methods include size exclusion, affinity, ion exchange and reverse phase. Familiarity with Agilent 1200 and 1050 HPLCs and software is desirable. Theoretical and practical familiarity with routine analytical assays for protein characterization including SDS-PaGE, Western blotting, concentration assays, and spectroscopy (UV/Vis). Experience with immune-precipitation (IP) and ELISA techniques is essential and familiarity with cell culture is preferred. Demonstrated potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others and independent thought. Advanced computer proficiency including the use of spreadsheet and word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work with co-workers and outside agencies professionally and tactfully. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. Knowledge and experience in the correct handling of hazardous substances. BS/BA or MS degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
