The Culture Capital Exchange Pilot Associate Membership for HEIS
based outside of London
Introduction
The Culture Capital Exchange (TCCE) was launched in October 2011. The company was
established following seven successful years of operation as LCACE (London Centre for
Arts and Cultural Exchange), a network of 9 HEIs originally supported by HEIF funds to
develop relationships between the research base and the arts and cultural sectors in
London.
TCCE has 10 full Members, all London-based HEIs. Details of these can be found at
www.tcce.co.uk.
The Culture Capital Exchange activities focus on two closely interrelated areas. We produce
events, networking activities and other opportunities to foster closer, more synergistic
relationships between our University members and the cultural, creative and related
business sectors.
We also support and advocate Knowledge Exchange, Research Collaborations and Impact
between our academic members, the CCIs and relevant business sectors. In practical terms,
over the course of a typical year, this means that we:






Produce a number of highly targeted networking events that create opportunities for
people from a range of sectors to meet, exchange information and explore
possibilities for new collaborations
Produce an annual national conference around the theme of ‘Research, Creativity
and Business’
Develop innovative initiatives to support our university members in areas such as
Knowledge Exchange and Research Impact
Work closely with our members to curate and produce our annual Inside Out Festival
Produce monthly e-newsletters, case studies and other online resources
Work closely with members, partner organisations, research councils, policy bodies
and others to ensure that we are able to respond to change and opportunity and to
be able, in turn, to act as advocates and influencers where appropriate
The Culture Capital Exchange’s Pilot Associate Membership Scheme
In the two years since TCCE was launched, we have had significant registers of interest in
becoming associated with TCCE from non-London based HEIs. As such, we are now
delighted to announce a Pilot Associate Membership Scheme. The Pilot Associate
Membership is open to non-London-based universities and other specialist higher education
providers working in arts-based subject areas.
