Press information November 2015 PRESS BULLETIN OF STONE FAIR 2015 Natural stone and glass variation; this is how, in a nutshell, we can describe what is going on the fairgrounds of Poznań International Fair. As part of STONE Stone Industry Fair, advanced technologies, machines and tools for processing stone and natural stone are presented. The exhibition connected with GLASS Glass Industry Fair will take place from November 18 to 21. STONE INDUSTRY FAIR Nearly 130 exhibitors from Saudi Arabia, China, Czech Republic, France, India, Germany, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Ukraine, Great Britain and Italy are presenting the most valuable and most interesting things as far as stone and stone-related products are concerned. Poznań hosts lots of Polish and foreign producers and distributors of natural raw materials. The exposition is located in pavilions 7A, 8, and 8A. Pavilion 7A is where machines and tools are presented, whereas pavilion 8A holds the exposition of the natural stone, tombstones and tomb accessories. Chinese representatives of the industry as well as the Fair of Minerals and Precious Stones will be located in pavilion 8. 14th Stone Congress The 14th Stone Congress will take place on November 19-20. The program includes counseling regarding EU funds for 2014-2020, a training connected with mistakes and faults while performing installation works, as well as a training on the current norms and applicable examinations concerning stone products. The event, opened for all visitors, is directed at people connected with the stone industry, designers, and architects working with the stone on daily basis. The Stone Industry Employers Association and Poznań International Fair are the organizers of the event. → conference room in pavilion 8A Euro-Granite Adamus presentation The exhibition presentation of Euro-Granite Adamus company offering an interesting program seems very attractive. Representatives of the company are going to collect applications for the training on the processing and installation of stone, conglomerates, and quartz sinter at stands 15 and 16 in pavilion 8A. There is also going to be a presentation of a new material Duke White as well as an opportunity to purchase lots of materials at discount prices. → pavilion 8A, stands 15-16 Young Designer Workshop: Stone Co-organized together with the publisher of “Nowy Kamieniarz”, the workshop for students of architecture and young designers will take place from Wednesday to Friday (18-20 November 2015). The students will participate in the lectures of Polish and foreign experts in the field of creative application of stone for architectural projects. Moreover, consultations with STONE exhibitors on the structure of stone and different machining techniques have been planned. Then, on the basis of the knowledge gained the workshop participants will prepare a project of a stone item. Victorious concepts will be forwarded to stone companies, which will make the prototypes. The exhibition of works and the selection of laureates will take place in Poznań at Arena Design from 8 to 11 March 2016. The event’s primary objective is to present the possibilities of the natural stone to future architects and designers, to prepare them to work with the material as well as to make designs which will be introduced on the market. → stand 43 and conference room in pavilion 8A Sanding Champion The time trial tombstone sanding competition appears spectacular. The competition for the Sanding Champion will be organized by the “Świat Kamienia” magazine and ABRA. The task will involve all the stages of making an epitaph, namely designing it with Corel software, cutting out letters on Hard sandable foil with a plotter, applying the foil on a tombstone and, finally, the sanding itself. The competitor who will do the task in a shortest time, yet perform it with the highest possible care, will become the winner. The competition for the most skillful mason will take place on November 18-20. → pavilion 7A, stands 13-14 Stone 2015 Competition The results of the Stone 2015 Competition will be announced at this year’s edition of STONE. The Jury has given seven Kariatyd statuettes for the best stone works in three different categories, namely “Stone in architecture facilities”, “Tombstone”, “Architectural elements, sculptures, interiors”. The “Świat Kamienia” magazine is the organizer of the event and a solemn presentation of the distinctions will take place on Thursday at 1:30pm in pavilion 8A. → conference room in pavilion 8A “Historic Securities of Polish and foreign Stone industry” from Tomasz Staniszewski’s collection The exhibition of Tomasz Staniszewski’s collection of “Historic Securities of Polish and foreign Stone industry” will be a great attraction for history enthusiasts. The purpose of the exhibition is to present the fair visitors with the history of old companies connected with stone exploitation and processing as well as to present the artistic skills of their bonds and shares. 150 exhibits will be presented at the exhibition and the ones connected to the stone and construction industry will be particularly interesting. The archives will be complemented by photographs and documents of the selected companies. Tomasz Staniszewski, the owner of INBRA Poland, a member of London’s IBSS International Bond & Share Society as well as a member of Warsaw’s Association of Historic Securities Collectors, will be the curator of the exhibition. → pavilion 8A, stand 9 Exchange of Minerals and Precious Stones Exchange of Minerals and Precious Stones will be another attraction of STONE available all four days (18-21 November). Those who are passionate about stone ornaments and jewelry will find bracelets, brooches, earrings, and necklaces. It will be a great opportunity to get familiar with various types of stone and precious minerals. → pavilion 8 FOR VISITORS The entry ticket enables you to visit all three events, including GLASS Glass Industry Fair, STONE Stone Industry Fair and SAKRALIA Trade Fair of Church Furnishings, Liturgical Objects and Devotional Items, which are organized in the same place. The opening hours are: 18-20 November 2015 from 10:00 to 17:00 and 21 November 2015 (Saturday) from 10:00 to 16:00 (free entry).
