Cambridge Science Festival 2014 Schools Roadshow
Free events for schools Monday 3 - Friday 7 March 2014
Dear Science Teacher
You are invited to participate in the 2014 Cambridge Science Festival Schools Roadshow,
which takes place Monday 3 to Friday 7 March 2014. The Roadshow is an opportunity for you
to request a visit to your school at a time convenient to you and at no cost. Typically, a talk will
last between 45 minutes and one hour, depending on your school’s timetable.
There are 26 different sessions available in this year’s Roadshow, with topics from Astronomy
and Zoology to plant science and medicine. Speakers come from local industry, research
institutes and from University of Cambridge departments. Academics and researchers are able
to speak to student groups of various sizes and ages, ranging from Key Stage 1 to 5. Please
see the enclosed leaflet for the list of talks, speakers’ availability, target Key Stage and the
geographical locations speakers are able to visit on a particular day.
The leaflet uses the words “North” and “Central” to describe geography of availability

“North” Cambridge and Cambridgeshire includes: Sawtry and St. Neots; Huntingdon,
Ramsey and March; and Witchford, Ely, Soham.

“Central” Cambridge includes schools central and south Cambridge
You can request a visit to your school by using the enclosed application form. Applications need
to be returned to us by Friday 17 January 2014. Places are limited and we cannot guarantee
all of your choices can be met.
In addition, please join us for some exciting events during the Cambridge Science Festival,
taking place Monday 10 to Sunday 23 March 2014. The programme will become available by
February as a printed Programme, online and via the Festival mobile app. Please visit:
