JAP102 ePortfolio – Speaking Task
To develop greater fluency and accuracy in speaking Japanese, you are encouraged to practise speaking
in the following ways and use feedback from others to improve areas of weakness.
Note: a checklist is provided at the end to keep track of your work.
Task 1a – Self-introduction
Give a 3-minute brief self-introduction. You might want to include the following
information:





Task 1c – Pair interview/role play
Interview or create a role play with a partner for 10 minutes.
The 10-minute exchange should include:
 General questions (name/ occupation/ age/place of residence/ nationality/ hobby,
etc.) and ;
 Questions about your partner’s belongings, dairy life and,
 Any other points you like.
You can ask anyone who speaks Japanese - your own classmates as well as students from
other classes, exchange students, your hostel tutor or the visiting tutors - to do this
exercise with you.

Upload a video or an audio-file featuring your Speaking task onto your Mahara JAP102 ePortfolio to
provide evidence of learning.

Task 2 – Task evaluation (peer review)
After completing your speaking task:
a) Listen to one of your classmates’ Speaking task by visiting his/her Mahara ePortfolio
and post a feedback using the “Place feedback” button. (Note that your classmate must
invite you as a Friend for you to be able to see his/her task). Make sure this is done well
before the submission deadline!
