Welcome and Call to Order. Mark Wiesenberg, PACE Past President, welcomed all board members and visitors. 2. Advisor Career Paths. Ronnie Price distributed a document which explains the new advisor career path structure that is being introduced to UVU. The career path includes four levels with job grades ranging from 3538. Ideally, UVU prefers to maintain and hire level three advisors. Career paths are being developed across campus. 3. Benefits. We have an incredible benefits package. Federal changes to health care are forthcoming. Costs have increased drastically—approximately by 18%. Those serving on the benefits committee are aware of needed pay increases and how difficult an increase in benefit cost would be. Consideration is being given to the option of adding additional plans to our program to help control costs. We are self-funded. During the previous three years, our average claims were steady. Last year, there was a sharp increase in claims. UVU will emphasize wellness issues and encourage annual checkups. In April, there will be open enrollment and options will be explained. PACE board members should encourage staff members to offer feedback to the benefits committee as the discussion progresses. 4. Recognition Committee. There were 45 Wolverine Sightings during the last month. Our first drawing will be held at the end of March. Distinguished Employee Awards need to be selected by Friday, February 24. Only 11 nominations have been received so far. Please encourage nominations. Award winners will be determined on Monday, February 27. For recognition, recipients will receive balloons/candy at their offices and will be recognized in another undetermined venue. Suggestions and ideas should be directed to Marsha Haynes. 5. UPAC Update. A document was distributed to the Board which summarizes recent events/topics in UPAC. Topics include: Core theme, objectives, indicators, and administrative imperative discussions.
