Space Limited; Starting September 12 Traumatic Stress Studies Certificate Program The Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, in partnership with Salisbury is pleased to announce a new interactive distance-learning course for Traumatic Stress Studies certification, starting September 12, 2011 through May 2012. This certificate program will be available on-site at two rural locations in Maryland – Hagerstown for Western Maryland and Queenstown for Eastern Shore. For over a decade, The Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute has offered a state-of-theart advanced training program in traumatic stress studies in Boston, MA. Geared toward licensed mental health professionals, this nine-month weekly program offers post-graduate specialized training in the treatment of posttraumatic and dissociative disorders in children and adults. The program includes extensive didactic training, integrative group discussion, and small group discussion for case application. Program faculty are recognized experts in the field, including Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, M.D., Trauma Center founder and medical director. This course presents the latest research in the field of traumatic stress studies including a focus on understanding treatment for complex developmental trauma experienced in childhood with lifelong effects on brain development. To receive Trauma Studies certificate or CEUs, 80% attendance is required. 2011-2012 Locations: Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, Chesapeake College – Queenstown, MD University System of Maryland at Hagerstown – Hagerstown, MD Fee Schedule and Payment Plan The program cost through Trauma Center, Boston, MA is $4,300/pp. Nine-Month Certificate Program – distance-learning course through Salisbury University at either Hagerstown or Queenstown sites. Cost is $2500 due no later than September 5th to reserve your seat. Class starts Sept. 12, 2011. Option #1 Option #2 Prepayment by August 15th reduced to $2400 with registration fee waived. All other materials will be sent directly to participants before each class to download and/or print for class use. Payment Due: Upon acceptance into the program, and no later than September 5, 2011 unless using installment plan which second payment due by November 15, 2011. Refund Policy: Cancellations must be submitted in writing and received one week prior to the beginning of classes. No refunds will be issued after classes begin. Number of CEU’s for Certificate Program = 90 units *Note: Continuing education credits up to 90 units are available for this certificate program. CEU’s are provided per course unit throughout school year. Continuing education credits, other than social work and psychologists, cannot be guaranteed until approvals have been received for each professional category.
