CLASSROOM TEACHER POSITION
STANFORD MERTHYR INFANTS SCHOOL
Expression of interest is being called for a temporary Classroom Teacher at Stanford
Merthyr Infants School from Term 2 2015 to the end of 2015, with a possible extension to the
end of 2016.
Position Information: This position is for a Stage One Class. (Training in L3 would be
desirable, but not essential for the successful applicant.)
School Information:
Stanford Merthyr Infants School (enrolment 78) is located 2kilometres from Kurri Kurri in the
Hunter Valley. All students, staff and community strive for excellence by providing a caring
and safe learning environment that encourages all students and staff to reach their full
potential. Staff work co-operatively as a whole school with a focus on developing student
achievement in Literacy and Numeracy. The school has strong links with its community and
participates in numerous activities throughout the year.
Position Criteria:




Approval to teach K-6 with experience teaching Years K-2.
Demonstrated ability to enhance student wellbeing and engage students through
differentiated quality teaching and learning programs with an emphasis on literacy and
numeracy.
Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills which build
relationships and engage students, staff and community.
Willingness to undertake extra-curricular activities throughout the school, working as a
member of a whole school team.
